The new housing bill has eliminated down payment assistance programs like Ameridream .
Although this program has been used by many first time buyers the new bill eliminates the program
Sept 2008. Fortunately there are still Grant and down payment assistance programs in Tucson Arizona.
The city still has $10,000 funds for first time buyers but they have eliminated the $20,000 plus area.
In addition there are funds from the Bank of California on a matching funds program. This program will
give the applicant a 3 to 1` ratio. If the buyer puts up $5000 down they can possible get $15,000 in
matching funds. These funds are running out and buyers would be wise to get off the fence and secure
these funds while still available. www.tucsonshort.com

Hi…I just thought you should know that there is a new website dedicated to saving downpayment assistance. The address is http://www.DPAGroundswell.org. This site contains an area where you can email comments/letters to your elected officials letting them know you want to help save DPA…FYI

I have an update on the DPA situation. Check out this article that talks about a possible compromise between HUD and DPA: http://www.inman.com/news/2008/09/9/congress-weighs-reprieve-seller-funded-gifts. If you haven’t taken the time to visit http://www.dpagroundswell.org, please do so! There is nothing like the voice of Americans raised together in one purpose to get things done! I want DPA programs to be around when I sell my home!
